Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. Massage therapy can be used as a treatment for both acute and chronic conditions. Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) work with a wide variety of patients in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability.

Our Physiotherapist will go through a comprehensive health history and evaluate your physical condition. Neurological pathologies include but are not limited to: Stroke (CVA), Head injury (ABI), Concussion, Parkinson Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), and Spinal cord injuries (SCI).

Asif graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2006. He is a registered member of College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Asif has a breadth of experience working in clinical settings, hospitals, as well as retirement and long-term care homes treating a diverse client base. Asif has also received Diplomas in Manual therapy as well as Acupuncture. He brings to our clinic more than 17 years of experience treating musculoskeletal/sports injuries, TMJ issues, post concussion management, vestibular and neurological issues, pediatric conditions, and post surgical rehabilitation.

Over the course of his career, Asif has completed specialized courses in Mulligan technique, dry needling, acupuncture, TMJ dysfunctions, Vestibular rehab, post concussion management, Kinetic link training and many more.

Asif believes in using a combination of different techniques for pain management, strength, balance, and sports-specific training. He takes a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve maximum results in his patients’ rehabilitation journey.

Hugo graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (Honours) and played on the men’s varsity volleyball team. Hugo continued his studies at the University of Glasgow Caledonian in Scotland, from which he graduated with a Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy. He is licensed to practice in Canada, Scotland, and Ireland.

Hugo worked as a physiotherapist in a private hospital in Dublin, Ireland, for the last two years were he specialised in the intensive care unit before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. He has a keen interest in pain management neuroscience and a keen interest in ensuring his patients reach their goals. Hugo provides education, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, dry needling, and hydrotherapy. His therapy sessions focus on a comprehensive hands-on approach, followed by the design of a personalized treatment and home exercise plan for each patient.

Nethmi graduated from Algonquin College with an Advanced Diploma in the Massage Therapy Intensive Program (2019) and is a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Prior to, she graduated from the University of Ottawa (2016) where she obtained a Bachelor of Human Kinetics. Nethmi also has experience working as an exercise assistant at a physiotherapy clinic where she taught and helped create individualized exercise plans. It was that role that led Nethmi to expand her knowledge and provide more hands-on care for patients through the massage therapy program.

Nethmi’s treatments consist of various forms of manual therapy techniques, including trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. Over the years of her practice, Nethmi has treated various populations, including athletes, children/teenagers, prenatal and the elderly. She has an interest working with chronic pain, stress management and women’s health. Nethmi prides herself on her patient-centered care, working collaboratively with her patients to achieve their goals.

When Nethmi isn’t working, she is spending time with her family and friends, walking her golden retriever, or reading a good thriller.

Fadi graduated from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy and is a registered member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Prior, he obtained a Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. He has also successfully completed the Anatomical Acupuncture Program with Acupuncture Canada.

Fadi uses a breadth of advanced techniques including manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, exercise prescription and the latest evidence-based treatments. Over the last five years, Fadi has gained practical experience treating a wide array of clients, including Olympic athletes, post-operative patients, and the elderly. He is actively looking to advance his arsenal of treatment tools to get his clients back on their feet as soon as possible.

In addition to his practical experience, Fadi has volunteered as a researcher at the Neurotrauma Impact Science Laboratory (NISL) at the University of Ottawa. Given his passion for hockey and football, Fadi conducted research on NHL and NFL non-injury impacts and the efficacy of protective helmets in contact sports.
